How Federal Grants are of extreme importance

Grants form an integral part for the betterment and improvement of the society. The overall growth of the society whether it is educationally, economically, medically or environmentally, depends very significantly on the federal grants. They are also referred to as Free Government Grants. There is a very fine difference between a grant and a loan. A grant is something which a government or a private organization gives for free to any individual if it finds that the individual meets the basic requirements of getting that particular grant. On the other hand, a loan is something which individual applies for and is ready to replay it sometime later in life. Hence, one should not get confused between grants and loans. Thus, the government grants are referred to as free grants.

Types and how each federal grant is helpful

• Educational grants- these grants are given by the government to those people who are financially unable to carry out the expense of their education. As a result of which they are supposed to leave their education in between or sometime are unable to get any kind o education. This grant is then used to provide the necessary educational qualifications to such individuals. Generally those people who are below the poverty line in most of the developing and under developed countries of the world are given such grants.
  • Health grants- these grants are specifically meant to give financial assistance to those people who are unable to carry out the expense of their medical treatment. Over the years it has been that several people who are poor have lost their lives owing to the lack of financial assistance eon their part. This was supposed to be removed and thus the governments of different parts of the world came up with the idea of Federal Grants.
• Environmental grants- these grants are another Free Government Grants given to most of the NGOs working for the up gradation of our environment. The growing effect of global warming cannot be ignored in today’s time. The reason behind its increasing danger is the cutting of trees and degradation of environment due t noise, water and air pollution. Thus with the help of such grants the NGOs strive hard to work for the betterment of the environment by planting more and more trees wherever possible.
• Housing grants- the government also provides housing grants to individuals who want to own their own houses but are unable to do so due to lack of monetary value.

Getting it-

The government after a certain period of time publishes in newspaper and also ion the net that it willing to give grants and invites applications of individuals. People are then required to submit their original documents and along with the duly filled application form in the office. If the government would feel that a person is eligible enough for the Federal Grants, then it would give him the desired sum of money.
Thus, Federal Grants holds a significant place in our society and is necessary for its development.
